I feel this film was beautifully done. It was far more than your usual "Corny Christian movie". I felt it was a very good representation of what early or "first" Christians were like.
Joseph Fiennes played his role as Clavious the Tribune perfectly! The agnostic, blood and war numbed warrior that he was, Clavius was absolutely believable in every scene. Jesus, though He didn't have many lines really did appear to radiate His love (real true love, not typical sappy "Christian movie" love.
) the way I would imagine Him to love people. For me it sparked faith in my heart to love humanity the way He did. This is by far one of the best "Christian-period piece" films out there. I'm honestly amazed at some of the negative reviews.
I guess with Jesus as the topic there will always be haters hating on Him. Don't worry though, He still loves you.
