Review of Risen (2016) by Robert L — 27 Feb 2016

Risen is the best faith based films that has come out in a long time. The story is subtle and not in your face with big fancy miracle productions. It has solid performances, excellent cinematography, and some beautiful views of landscapes. I came away from this film thinking, "this is how it could have actually happened" as it follows a Roman tribune (Joseph Fiennes), who was present at the Crucifixion, while he investigates the disappearance of Yeshua's (Jesus') body from the tomb.

Yes, there are a few problems both Biblically and with some character development. However, it does not have nearly the same problems, and is a much better film than The Bible (2013), Son of God (2014), Noah (2014), and Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014).
