Review of Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) by Isabel G — 15 Apr 2014
Very nice reintroduction to the Planet of the apes franchise. this time we start in the human world that in his greed develop a medication that can enhance mental abilities in alzheimers patients. Unfortunately it is not as effective on the humans as it is on the apes that develop an almost human intelligence.
it is our own mistakes and greed that bring our own demise and what's left is a band of over intelligent apes on the verge of developing a sense of social individualism. Will the apes inherit the earth? And if they do, will they do any better than we did? This is a very good movie that raises a lot of interesting questions about what means to be human.
I enjoyed much, and most of all Caesar, a CGI character leads us in this quest. Can't wait for the sequel. Highly recommended, with inspiration in the original movies with a modern twist to esplore human nature.
