It's well made to a certain extent, and Andy Serkis' performance is great as usual, but Rise of the Planet of the Apes doesn't offer too much to hold one's interest, however, it has set this long forgotten franchise back on track and does lead it in the right direction with it's great ending, if only it's forgettable first and second act held up as well.
