Not bound by the demands of convention like Burton´s attempt, the 2011 reboot is a drama about the bond between an unlikely father and son first, and then a popcorn spectacle second. That´s not to take away from the terrific effects, WETA once again triumphing in mo-cap, or an intense climax on the Golden Gate.
