Review of Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) by Ian H — 01 Jan 2015
The movie has its shortcomings (namely James Franco as the only scientist who knows how to do the science, damnit), but watching the rise of these apes is absolutely enthralling. That enthrallment, however, is almost exclusively courtesy of Andy Serkis and the CG fx team who made Caeser a beautifully nuanced and compelling character opposed to the damn dirty ape I was expecting.
