Review of Rise of the Footsoldier: Part II (2015) by Jack L — 12 May 2017
Unfortunately after loving the first film so much I was left feeling very disappointed with this sequel. The second film is a direct follow on from where the first left off and an attempt to tell the continuing story of the life of real life British hard man Carlton Leach.
Unfortunately I was just left feeling that this film just didn't need making at all. In complete contrast to the first film, the second has no real plot to it and also unlike the first, the supporting characters have no real depth to them.
Although it may be an accurate telling of the events which happened to him since the end of the last film, there is no real plot to the story, which I felt just leaves the whole film feeling a bit lost.
However what I found the most disappointing is that, again in complete contrast to the first film, there is no real action in it. To sum the contrast between the two films best I'll actually borrow what I read from another reviewer of the film when he explained, the first film was one that once you had watched it one you could watch again and again, the second is one that once you've watched it you really wish you hadn't.
