Review of Rise of the Footsoldier (2007) by Zbyn?K S — 05 Sep 2011
A nasty and ugly film based around organized crime "Firm" in Essex during the buildup to the Rettendon Murders. The movie isn't helped by the fact that apart from a few funny lines, all of the main characters are utterly unlikeable, defined by their bad habits and an attitude that would make most Neanderthals seem civilized by comparison.
So after two hours of drugs sex and a ton of gritty violence we leave feeling neither enlightened or our opinions changed. Scarface this ain't. but if anything i've described is you cup of tea then go watch it because it is very good at what it does, showing bloody violence, and people getting high off of their own supply.
