Review of Rise: Blood Hunter (2007) by Alex Y — 08 Oct 2007

I would have given this new vampire flick 4 stars, due to the similarity to an old favorite vampire flick 'the Hunger' (David Bowie played the rapidly aging vampire)... No fangs kind of vampire movies whereas the vampires carry miniature knife pendants to slit the victims throats.

What puts me off in Rise is, the damn rape scenes, here we go again, exposing women and girls nudity as usual. It's a sickening trend in movies lately as if the penises can't think up anything better to do.

Another unagreeable thing is exposing Lucy Liu, I'm surprised she agreeded to this pathetic male flick. Too much sick boob screen times. It's not surprising it got hell of a lot low ratings especially among female species! Exposure, Rape and Death to Resurrection and Revenge.

A deadly boring cycle. Hardly much of a story. By all rights I should give this 1-2 stars like everyone else.
