Review of Ripley's Game (2002) by Manny C — 12 Mar 2011
Malkovich gives an impressive, strong performance as the complacent, yet murderous older incarnation of The Talented Mr Ripley in this unusual psychological thriller. Unfortunately, despite an intriguing plot, strong performances and a haunting soundtrack, Ripley's Game is mediocre at best.
It certainly isn't boring or predictable, but falls short of being a great psychological thriller through lacking the gripping and disturbing tension which is so desperately required within this genre.
