Review of R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned (2022) by Jlogx87 — 03 Feb 2023

Definitely an improvement over the first film. Roy's background and origin story is enjoyable, and the characters have their comedic moments. The jokes are delivered at the right moments (for the most part) to cut the much darker and more serious tone of this sequel.

There is some "woke agenda" in this film, but it's kept to a mostly tasteful tone, and doesn't really subvert the overall story. The villain is done well, though his motivation is shallow. It really amounts to "I want to rule the world", blah blah.

Overall, a decent film. Not great, but not bad either. I'd check it out, especially if you're a fan of the first one.
