Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Jordan R — 06 May 2008
Sure it's a Western with shoot-outs and such, but it would be hard to name another movie that better depicts how communities and friendships get built and sustained, but more importantly, how that all feels.
None of that would have registered without the chemistry and rapport between the leads, and a subtle, very funny script. Added bonus: Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson dueting. A sublime moment in American cinema.
