Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Codie E — 16 Jan 2008
It's ethics are horrible and a lot of the people involved detestable but what is on screen is a terrific western that benefits from the close surroundings and the photography (everything is wide or nothing less than two shots) Add to this an extremely good character and performance from Dean Martin, who steals the film, and you have one of the finest westerns ever made.
