I have a lot of favorite movies that I love but only handful of them can equal the joy I had watching this. I loved this from the first second to the last. The cast is one of the best ever to be put together on screen.
John Wayne always felt like a one note actor to me but he proved me wrong with this film. I never knew he could actually be this fucking likable. Everyone in this cast was. I was in disbelief as different characters came in and how much I liked every single one of them.
Howard Hawks is a genius. He's crafted a western unlike any that I've ever seen. He blends so many different genre's with ease. This movie,for me,has scene after scene after scene of perfection.
I love films where I remember them for the entire thing and not just a few great scenes.
