Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Ashley S — 21 Jun 2010
Excellent western pitting a few good guys against a whole gang of bad guys. The film opens with a murder and revolves around making sure justice is done. Sheriff Chance (Wayne) just has to keep his prisoner until the marshal arrives in a few days.
But the town is full of outlaws just waiting for any opportunity to bust their "friend" out. The good guys are significantly outnumbered and the murderer's brother is very rich and willing to pay for loyalty.
Very entertaining and a good film even for someone who isn't a huge western fan. Highly recommended to John Wayne and western fans but also suggested to anyone who wants to give a western a try. It's a good western to get into the genre with.
