Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Matt G — 31 Aug 2010
Hawks' intelligent dialogue and no-nonsense, character driven style is subtly sensitive and always entertaining. Every performance is patient and personal, even Brennan's usual comic role provides him an opportunity for a character with complexity.
It is clear that performance is priority, adding dimensions to an otherwise typical Western story.
