Well, I say it frankly. The movie's screenplay is among the worst I've seen. Ever. And I mean, it's Ed Wood like. Or maybe it's not the dialogue itself, but how the actors bring it. Now I know why I never was interested in Westerns: John Wayne. This is one of the worst actors of all time maybe. I have to watch True Grit and see why the fuck he got an Oscar. But if it was a life achievement kind of thing, then I feel pity for the Hollywood society (even more than I did before).

Anyway, I heard so much about Rio Bravo. Tarantino calls it one of the best films of all time (but then again, he also says Taxi Driver is... lol).

Howard Hawks a legend? Well, if this is his masterpiece, then he certainly is as much legend as Ed Wood or Mel Brooks.

I know that Rio Bravo is kind of a comedy. But isn't it sad if the funniest scene is one that isn't supposed to be funny? And I'm talking about the opening sequence in the bar, where Dean Martin hits John Wayne with a club, and that other guy kills someone. I rolled on the floor for that scene's ridiculosity...

I mean, it's not like it's the worst movie ever. The chick was pretty hot. The Mexican guy was funny too. And the Stumpy-guy was hilarious.

But masterpiece? It seemed like a 12-year-old would have made the film... 11 points from me...
