Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Neil H — 14 Mar 2008
One of the greatest westerns of all time - but not necessarily in the Sergio Leone -vein. This is more slow burning and people-oriented stuff where the action takes the second place. Wayne is great, as usual, but I especially loved Dean Martin's performance.
I don't think he ever did as great a job after this. You can feel the pain when the drunk deputy tries to kick the drinking habit. Awesome, Dino!
