Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Eamon M — 23 Jan 2010
One of the greatest Westerns of all time. Perhaps the best. It is a great film full of wonderful and charming performances. In time John Wayne would sadly become a walking cliche but it all works perfectly here.
Film was so good it was remade twice, both times still starring Wayne! It's inspiration can be seen in many other films including even Night of the Living Dead and Assault on Precinct 13.
