Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Andrew G — 01 Jan 2011
This movie is also on my top 10 Western list, but I have to admit it could also be on a list of comic films. It's not your typical gritty Western, it's rather slow paced and it's just fun to watch.
There are so many likeable characters it's a place your would like to stay if it were real. The interplay between the characters (especially Angie Dickinson and John Wayne and Walter Brennan and John Wayne) never ceases to make me laugh out loud.
Maybe it's too much fun to be take seriously, but however you classify it, it's entertainment at it's best.
