Review of Rio Bravo (1959) by Tear J — 13 Feb 2012
I haven't watched many western films; but compared to the one's I have watched, Rio Bravo was surprisingly different. While the plot was plain and simple, the film was still interesting. There was never a moment where I felt bored.
Of course there are the gunfights and brawls, but there is also a bit of comedy. Dean Martin's portrayal of a tortured, recovering alcoholic was real believable. And, John Wayne did not seem as one denominational as he does in some of his other films.
