This is a very charming movie, but also quite an average movie in my opinion. It doesn't really serve up anything new to the plate. This movie just seemed to happen, and then end, but it is a lot of fun, and is better than Mars Needs Moms, which doesn't take much to do. There is humour in this movie, and also there are great songs, and that is why I enjoyed the movie so much, as there were some problems in the way that the human characters weren't interesting enough at all.

This is the definitive kids movie, where they will have a blast with this movie, and you will be able to watch it without clawing your eyes out e.g. Alvin and the Chipmunks= BAD. But this movie has a nice pace, where characters set out to some niice development, so that you feel something for the characters, but the problem was that although it has humour of sorts, a lot of it doesn't work, and just feels a bit awkward. But it doesn't really matter as much, as I was compeltely engaged by the visuals and the colours, as that is all that matters with this movie- and the music of course, and dancing. Great stuff there.

The energy in this movie is great, with all the voices full of it, and that is what makes this movie entertainng, as it just helps the movie move along, and there weren't any scenes that truly dragged the film down. But the enrgy can sometimes ruin a scene, as I found that they kept cutting off the music before it could really get started, and I know they tried to keep the action in the movie, but it happened several times, and I just wanted to hear a little bit more, and a lot of the songs never really fulfilled their potential, until the end of the movie, and that just got on my nerves a bit.

The animation was so really something to see, with all the colour and light, and a paradisical setting, that just made you want to be part of the excitement, and the way all the characters had their own special character look, and I was surprised how easy they made it to define the characters, as it could have been a problem.

But I do think they suffered from the amount of characters they had, although they dealt with them well enough, due to the short running time, a lot of the characters felt either under used, or just forgotten about, and altohugh in the end it did work, it just felt like they were cramming int maybe too many characters into one movie.

It is hard to describe why I didn't truly love this movie, but I think it is just because it didn't really have that humour like you would get from a Pixar moive or Dreamworks movie, or the true heart, the first scene hinted at that kind of style, but they never really went into his tainted past, they just put it there, to explain why he can't fly, then it was never really used again, and that could have been a really useful plot point to rely on, but instead they just made it a fun, whimsical adventure which I don't have a problem with, but it just isn't a groundbreaking movie. It 's just fun, and that is what it sets out to be, never to surprise or change you in any way, just to have you dancing in your chair, and feel happy by the end. Which I did.
