Rio 2 tries to hard to become darker than its predecessor. It had so much potential with the start of the 2nd act, however does not utilize its potential properly. Everything in this sequel falls flat, its jokes, its darkness, its third act, even its finale song.

I was actually interested on how will they pursue the climax, sadly, nothing good was given. But, there are some scenes that can make you chuckle, that's it.
