Review of Rio 2 (2014) by Robert M — 23 Aug 2014
Not as good as the first, but it was still fairly decent. The overall film wasn't as well thought out as the first one in my opinion, but it was fun to see the old characters again as well as the new ones.
Going from a city setting (Rio 1) to an amazon setting was an interesting idea for the film. Some of the characters may have lost their touch a little compared to the first film (like Nigel), but there we're some neat new characters like Bruno Mars' part, Roberto.
The film can also remind us to understand how natures most interesting and glamorous areas are always being destroyed by us humans and how there may not be much hope for a lot of the different animals that live in those areas, no matter what they are.
Fun humor, fun music, fun adventure. Solid movie overall.
