Review of Righteous Kill (2008) by Ross L — 18 Oct 2012
You can't go in expecting another Heat or even the above average stuff in these two titanic filmographies, but even then it still doesn't come close. the direction is absolutely horrendous (Jon Avnet should not be allowed to a film class) and what could've been an interesting script oirinally on right and wrong and police ethics gets lost in a mountain of cliches and awful plot twists.
but the two still make it worthwhile because it's them and they prove on a bad day, they still beat the rest (although DeNiro's been doing that WAY TOO MUCH lately). It's too bad they were reduced to this.
It's loses half a star for John Leguizamo's HORRIFYINGLY AWFUL attempt at acting.
