Review of Righteous Kill (2008) by Chris B — 31 Oct 2012
This movie rode on the coattails of the union of two iconic American movie stars: De Niro and Pacino. These two love cop stories and tend to play the roles quite frequently. The movie's twist becomes quite clear well before it is revealed, and the twist truly is not that surprising - especially given the actors' styles: De Niro tends to play straightforward, salt of the earth type guys, and Pacino revels in flaws.
If you strip away these two actors, you've got a plot based on police corruption, which is pretty much every police movie for the last 10 years. Pacino's subtleties are electric though, like most anything he touches.
