Review of Right at Your Door (2006) by Roy M — 01 Feb 2008
In front of such films as these there is a tendency for a political bias, to point the blame (I'm thinking Michael more type stuff), this film however was surprisingly (and refreshingly) unbiased in this sense.
It had no political propaganda. In front of the proposition of any natural disaster it has always been my position that I realize things are outside of my control. Everything I do makes me realize how little of an effect I actually have, and I think this was portrayed beautifully throughout the movie.
From the very start... he couldn't even find his wife, and whats more he couldn't let her in afterwards. This is one of the best horror/paranoia movies I have ever seen. that is to say it has the same feel to it as the disasters of 9/11 and all the recent hurricanes, making the giving it a sense of realism.
Masterfully done and the human position in front of all of this was never negated.
