Review of Right at Your Door (2006) by Jason C — 07 Feb 2008
As a debut feature goes this is a very good effort, but might have worked better on the small screen. A terrorist attack told entirely from an ordinary civilians point of view - no heros and no saving the world, just couple trying to make sense of a constant trickle of radio scatter giving us a glimpse of the madness happening right outside their door.
The frustration and despair the characters go though in working out how to survive a dirty bomb attack on Los Angeles is realistically scripted and acted, however the constant shaky camerawork gets a little tiresome.
Although a good opening and the ironic twist ending is both welcome and telling, the whole film feels a little too directionless - nevertheless one of the better films to come out of post 9/11.
