Review of Right at Your Door (2006) by Jason D — 17 Feb 2008
Pretty bleak and disturbing film that centers on one couple's perspective on the apocalyptic collapse of Los Angeles as dirty bombs are set off all over the place, killing hundreds of people and emitting a toxic gas to boot.
Luckily, the husband is on the outskirts and spends his time safeproofing his house, while the wife sits outside with the infected toxins. There are many powerful and emotional moments between the couple of and various supporting characters that show up here and there, but by the end of the movie, things become very bland and boring, with the exception of the ending where the climax of the film deals us with a large bowl of irony with its intense ending.
This movie is pretty decent but it either needed to be shorter, or beefed up some more in its blander parts.
