This film is a diabolical mess. Penny Marshall, sister of living abortion director Garry Marshall, cannot handle the nuancs of the screenplay and cannot edit non linear storylines that hokily ruins an un-necessary narration and makes this what should been star vehicle for Drew a sappy mismatched dramedy mess.
.. This film fails on almost all dramatic levels due to overbearing dramatic choices which is a pity as the chemistry between Barrymore and Murphy is electric - they just have nothing to help them from drowning in this.
A real disappointment.
