Does not stand well against Peralta's Dogtown and Z Boys, as docs go. The look at surfing's history was interesting and good surfing camerawork is among the best in any sport. The finishing sequence with Laird Hamilton makes you just say, "Holy s***!" However, the narrative is not especially compelling, thus making it seem at times a loose triptych of surfing footage, with some narrative added for context.
