Review of Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles (2005) by Ethan N — 26 Nov 2007
Based on the folklore "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" this wonderful story of an old man trying to do something nice for his dying son is filled with a valiant journey to help those in need. The shots of China, both the local scenery of small villages and the costumes for the opera/stageplays as well as the magnificent shots of the mountains is enough to make this film worthwhile.
Ken Takakura is excellent, as usual, in the lead role.
