Review of Ridicule (1996) by Jessica M — 19 Mar 2008
Lovely, elegant, and haunting. On the surface, it may seem like a typical historical fiction, but it depicts an era so rarely utilized in film. It is an interesting concept - that when people have eveything, they must resort to more wicked ways to get thier entertainment - the court at Versailles is a place where in order to succeed, one must take no prisoners in a battle of wit.
