Review of Ride or Die (2021) by Arostislavna — 18 Apr 2021

A bizarre "lesbian" crime film in which none of the main two characters can fully commit to one another, nor be purely lesbian. Coupled with a straight for hire opening, and a borderline drunken pity rape, and further man on woman + woman on woman abuse.

Towards the end, it has an identity crisis... in what the synopsis best describes as completely "aimless" writing that recycles the same ideas repeatedly for length-padding, never ready to commit to a direction. The love scenes and the Japanese scenery were filmed well and that's all I have to say about this run of the mill "netflix-tier" (C-tier) film. What's sad is that lesbians (myself & partner included) demanded better LGBT storytelling, but the landscape has not changed in the least.
