Review of Ride Lonesome (1959) by Erik G — 07 Jul 2009
The third of the Boetticher-Scott Westerns I've seen and the best. This was on TCM the other day, but I hope to see it on the big screen someday since there are so many exquisitely framed shots in this movie that use every bit of the depth of the field.
There's one shot where James Coburn goes up on the ridge to get a lookout for the bad guys and when they come, they are a mere wisp of dust, miles away and framed by two trees.
