Review of Ride Along 2 (2016) by Marcus H — 10 Aug 2016
Not that bad I went to see this at the local cheap theatre and considering all the special effects are practical (beside a few super cheesy video game shots; yeah really) it's a good one to watch on home video(some films demand that big screen surround sound digital project treatment; others you can watch on your 4.5in smartphone just fine). Some laughs Kevin Harts good for that right throw in Ken Jeong and Olivia Munn your in for a treat; if you like this sort of buddy cop flick. That's what it is a buddy cop movie. Ice Cubes - I'm not your buddy shtick was getting old at the end of part one; so here it's starting to bring down the franchise. We get it your the cop who's good at this & he's the dummy. Your character doesn't have to be an ***hole the whole movie.
I'd say this is Munn's best work yet, beside her role in HBOs Newsroom (This was obliviously action role test practice for X-Men). If there's another sequel I'll happily watch it; on an in-flight menu or while waiting in some barber shop lobby. If you like these guys you'll enjoy it; if not change the channel or don't select this on your streaming menu. Also part 3 needs be less predictable & raise the stakes. I'm not asking for Lethal Weapon here but they're playing at it like; that's what this is and sadly I'm really just waiting for more Bad Boys.
