Review of Riddick (2013) by Leevora H — 20 Jan 2014
There was just so much wrong with this movie.
1. The kid spewing out God's word. Nothing wrong with that, but it seemed odd and unbelievable. It just didn't fit in this story.
2. The bada$$ blonde chic; she gets attacked and instead of giving the audience a kick as hand to hand combat scene, we get nothing!!
That just sucked!
3. The Prisoner, she didn't look like a prisoner. You would think she would at least have bruises, torn clothes, etc. from how scared she seemed. She just wasn't believable as a terrified prisoner.
4. The way Riddick gets.... Ugh forget it. So much wrong in this.
The movie had such potential. Just didn't work.
Movies like this is popular for the edge of your seat action.
Do the audience a favor and deliver on the action!
Fight scenes need to be unique and filled with 'Oh my God, did that just happen' moments.
A great example of this is Fast & Furious 6.
Unbelievable, huge, defy realism action that made the film popular!!!
The best thing about this movie (thanks to Face Off) is the make-up.
I never paid much attention to that kind of sci-fy make-up before Face Off. Now it's the only thing that was good in this movie. Oh and those weird creatures.
