Although never hitting the heights of the original this is a return to form for Diesel and Twohy's entertaining anti-hero Riddick paired fortunately with a new and interesting opponent in Johns Sr.
searching for justice and vengeance. The smaller scale survival story works so much better and I hope Riddick will receive one more film return in this style before retiring. Great fun! First time rating: 7.
