Review of Ricki and the Flash (2015) by Jim H — 24 Aug 2015

I really appreciated that the actors actually played their instruments. The band you see on screen is the band you hear. That's so rare in movies. If you ever had a dream about being a musician, you will love this movie. If you ever had kids who are disappointed in your life choices, you will find a connection to this movie.

Not Streep's greatest performance, but she is so good she can carry it anyway. Springfield is a solid supporting in the band. Kline is believeable as her wealthy ex. And amazing how striking the resemblance is between "Ricki" and her daughter. (Seein' as how it actually IS her daughter.).
