Review of Ricki and the Flash (2015) by Joseph F — 21 Oct 2015
I'm not joking when I say I was the only person under the age of 60 in a matinee showing of Ricki and the Flash, but that's fitting considering Meryl Streep was the star of the show. Well, that and it was a Monday night.
Streep's performance as Ricki, a divorced underachieving wannabe rock musician, was not surprisingly exceptional. However, the holes in plot and weak surrounding characters are too much for one piece of the puzzle to overcome.
