Review of Revolutionary Road (2008) by Sage M — 27 Oct 2010
Whoever told me this was a romance movie is an idiot. Hated the characters. Hated their manipulations, hated how self-centered they were. When I first heard about the movie and how "depressing" it was, I thought it was a movie that dissuades people from falling in love and getting married and starting a family, cos we all know the whole family-starting career-ish adulthood mumbojumbo can be complicated.
. Boy was I wrong. There's a lot going on, between the characters, how they appear opposite to each other... Lots of contrasts. There were so many ways and nooks and crannies to explore the message interlaced into the movie and I lapped it all up.
Loved it. Made me feel absolute shit by the end but damn what an emotional ride.
