Review of Revolutionary Road (2008) by Keith's R — 13 Feb 2012
At first blush this is another depressing, albeit good, Mendes film. Not as good as American Beauty, but good. Second viewing (and yes you need to watch it more than once) you realize just how great DiCaprio and Winslet are in this.
Third viewing I came away thinking this is a much better movie than I had thought the first time. And the performances seem to get more impressive as well. There's a reason Winslet won a Golden Globe for Best Actress.
I don't mind a depressing film if it's done well and without a "hollywood ending".
