Review of Revolutionary Road (2008) by Guy C — 23 Apr 2014
Biting drama in it's purest form that is no picnic to sit through as it chronicles the disintegration of a loveless marriage. Leo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet are perfectly matched for one another and it's great to see them together on-screen again (also reuniting with Kathy Bates) since Titanic.
Sam Mendes is a terrific filmmaker and his cinematographer Roger Deakins makes miracles happen with such plain, 50s-era locales. The film has many powerhouse acting moments from both the leads and towards the end it gets quite tragic.
A great film that is rather underrated in my mind!
