Review of Revolutionary Road (2008) by Jay R — 15 Nov 2010
A haunting, balls to the wall, scary representation of suburban life. Winslet and Dicaprio in their first film together since Titanic are knockouts. Michael Shannon however steals every scene he is in as the mental patient who sees through all the lies and deception.
There is an undercurrent of uneasiness the entire movie and the sparks always fly. The movie is disturbing the sense of how real and gritty things can get. It is a story of false hopes and lost dreams.
A near masterpiece from Sam Mendes. Thumbs up!
