What an absolute powder-keg of a film. The fact that this one got no Oscar love is even MORE proof (as if you needed any more) of how badly the Oscars missed the boat in 2008. At it's heart the film boasts two fantastic performances by Winslet and DiCaprio--and a doozy turn by Shannon--but it's not just the acting that is so great. Mendes is quickly becoming one of the finest observers of the American family around. Watch these three movies in a row: American Beauty, Road to Perdition and Revolutionary Road.
