Review of Revolutionary Road (2008) by Luke T — 05 Apr 2014
When critics and fans found out that Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were to do a film together for the first time since Titanic (1997), they were hoping it would be good. I can certainly say that about this film.
Sam Mendes (Winslet's husband at the time) directs this Oscar-nominated romantic drama, starring DiCaprio and Winslet as Frank and April Wheeler, a couple who are struggling to cope with the engulf surrounding their marriage.
Nearly every marriage has its ups and downs, and this one is certainly no exception. Michael Mann and Kathy Bates both offer good supporting roles, but the stars of the show are DiCaprio and Winslet. They both give excellent performances and Winslet was rewarded with the Golden Globe for the Best Motion Picture Actress - Drama, also receiving a British Academy Film Award nomination.
