Review of Revolution OS (2001) by Wendi J — 23 Jun 2007
The Free Software revolution has come to change the world. Watch these loonies called 'hackers' tackle subjects like the feeble 'intellectual property' expression; the concept of software freedoms according to the Free Software Foundation pov; the computer club culture; GNU/Linux, etcetera, etcetera.
.. The only problem with this film is that it is getting old really fast. Certain things need to be revisited to account for some new threats to the free-flow of information (software patents to name one) but also to introduce some new good guys in this battle (for instance, Lawrence Lessig's Creative Commons licensing scheme).
Anyway, a good film for the techies among us.
