Review of Revenge (2017) by Alexandre P — 12 May 2018
Absolutely stunning cinematography, enough blood and gore to satisfy all horror fans, refreshing take on the Revenge genre and powerfull performances by the lead characters. But the film isn't perfect, despite a great attention to details, the movie is crippled by rather unrealistic, implausible scenes, that feels disconnected from the realistic tone of the film.
Some head-scratching moments where grave internal injuries are magically healed by some Macgyver-esque technique, where blood seems to be of minimal importance and fire is the most effective way to get off a tree.
Fans of the genre will appreciate the visuals and the gritty tone, but the farfetchedness of some scenes will put others off.
