Deserving much more than a critics' 34% rating, "Returner" has the coolness factor of "The Matrix" mixed with the style of the classic French cinema look film "Diva," and a villain with the attitude and charisma of The Joker.
Yakuza, post-apocalyptic dystopia, a not-cute young girl, a cool anti-hero in a long leather coat -- "The Returner" is a veritable stir-fry of elements, yet somehow it all works. Highly recommended.
And I'd like whoever borrowed by DVD to GIVE IT BACK!!!
