Review of Returner (2002) by Mel V — 20 Mar 2004

I had big problems with the pacing in this film. It would have incredible action sequences, then all of a sudden nothing at all happens for 45 minutes. To be honest I was getting kind of bored at times.

There definitely should have been more action. That being said, the action that was there was phenomenal, and I retract my pre-judgements from the trailer stating that the actionm was stupid. I understand it now that I have seen it.

This movie was like a mix between Terminator, The Matrix and Independence Day. Whether that's good or bad is up to you, I guess.

I was also appauled by the terrible acting by the english speaking actors/actresses in the film. That was really, really bad...

Anyways, overall it was meh. The action scenes made the movie worth the time, and made it fresh by a fraction of a smidgeon.
